CPT lawsuit hearing is Nov. 6; plaintiffs ask court for a public phone line

The universities and associations suing DHS over SEVP's August CPT broadcasts asked the federal court in Massachusetts on November 4 to open a telephone line so the public can listen to the November 6 hearing. The government told the plaintiffs it takes no position. The hearing on the request to pause the broadcasts is set for 3:00 p.m. in Courtroom 3 before Judge Julia E. Kobick. The docket shows the court entered an order on the request the same day, but its text was not available, so whether a line will be provided is unconfirmed; check the docket or the court notice. No court has ruled on the broadcasts, which remain SEVP's stated position.
